We wrapped up Week 1 of our MMS Feeder School Transition Camp. Our rising 6th grade scholars engaged in both intervention and extension activities, built relational capacity, learned some school rituals, rules and routines, practiced opening school lockers, conducted experiments in the science lab, played math Jeopardy, made new friends and had fun. We are looking forward to Week 2 and seeing these comets soar when school begins in August. #millsmiddleschoolcomets #rising6thgraders #thebestisyettocome #steam #summercamp

Happy Father's Day! How will you honor the father figures in your life today? #pcssdproud #serveall

MMS AVID Excel Summer Bridge wrapped up this week! Our objective for this (our first AVID Excel Summer Bridge) was to engage scholars in recursive routines that will increase their confidence, academic language, and literacy development and participate in community-building activities to establish a positive peer group.
We asked these super AVID Excel scholars if they were engaged, had the opportunity to practice public speaking and defined when and how to speak at appropriate levels and their reply was a resounding "Yes!" Their only request was to have the "Summer Bridge" to be longer.
We're looking forward to seeing these scholars in August knowing that they are both excited and ready to take their learning to the next level! #thebestisyettocome #avidexcel #millsmiddleschoolcomets
