LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Baker Elementary is putting a focus on health during the 2020-2021 school year, with the Grit and Fit Challenge.
The Grit and Fit Challenge is part of the school’s physical education program and all students, traditional, virtual, and blended, will participate. Students will perform a variety of exercises throughout the year, record their results, and be encouraged to try to beat their own best record.
By encouraging students to improve their personal goals, you help them build good fitness habits that can last a lifetime. Physically active kids are more likely to be motivated, focused, and successful in school. And mastering physical skills builds confidence at every age. When kids enjoy an activity, they want to do more of it and practicing a skill improves their abilities and helps them feel accomplished.
Baker Elementary is encouraging these activities to also be done at home as part of a family activity.
