Tiffany Shettles‑Tull and Larry Clark were both awarded the People Committed to Serving Scholars Daily Inspiration in Education Award for March during the regular meeting of the PCSSD Board of Education.
Shettles‑Tull was the certified awardee, and Clark was the classified awardee.
Shettles‑Tull has been an educator for 25 years and began her PCSSD career in 2001 at North Pulaski High School, where she taught English and served in several roles until the school closed in 2016. She later taught at Jacksonville and Maumelle High Schools, also serving as an AVID Site Coordinator and AVID elective teacher. Five years ago, she transitioned to College Station Elementary as the teacher librarian, where she now shares her love of reading with younger learners and builds strong relationships with students and families.
She also supports classroom instruction, manages the school’s social media presence, and organizes monthly themed potlucks to build staff morale. Colleagues describe her as a positive, dedicated leader whose enthusiasm and commitment strengthen the entire school community.
Nominated by College Station Elementary Principal Anjelica Evans, the nomination said, “(Shettles-Tull) loves everything about her job… except being a test coordinator. Some call it dedication. She calls it 'surviving testing season.”
Clark is the security officer at Oakbrooke Elementary and brings more than seven years of school and community safety experience to his role, including five years with the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
After coaching Little League football and baseball for 10 years, he joined PCSSD as a security officer and says God put him at Oakbrooke, where it is a perfect match.
In Clark's nomination, Dr. Kimberly Truslow, principal at Oakbrooke Elementary, described him as “an invaluable member of the Oakbrooke Elementary team” who consistently goes above and beyond to maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment. Clark is known for greeting students warmly, modeling respect, reinforcing expectations, and assisting staff and administrators whenever needed.
Dr. Truslow concluded, “His vigilance, reliability, and genuine care for the school community contribute significantly to a culture of safety and trust. Larry’s dedication and daily impact make him highly deserving of this.”
