Two individuals were recognized with the People Committed to Serving Scholars Daily Inspiration Award during the November Board of Education meeting.

Sunshine Crawford was honored as the classified PCSSD Inspiration in Education award, and Kendra Hunt was honored as the certified PCSSD Inspiration in Education award recipient.

Photo of Kendra Hunt with Dr. Nick FarrCrawford is the registrar at Oakbrooke Elementary, where she supports students, families, and staff. She has over 25 years of experience in education, which includes teaching pre-K and working in the school office.This is her fifth year with the PCSSD.

Hunt has been an employee with PCSSD for 16 of her 23 years as an educator. Hunt is currently the lead counselor at Maumelle High School and part-time counselor at Robinson High School. During her time as an educator, Hunt has served at all grade levels in several school districts in central Arkansas. She has received the Shining Star of Excellence Award at Jacksonville High, a leadership award at Maumelle High, along with an Administrator’s Award for recognition and appreciation of the work and contributions made to Maumelle High.

The People Committed to Serving Scholars Daily Inspiration Award was introduced in November in 2025 during the regular Board of Education meeting to continue recognizing individuals who inspire scholars in PCSSD. Starting in November 2025, a Classified and Certified employee are recognized with a $100 gift and an introduction during a board meeting.

The recognition is a revamp of the Inspiration in Education Award created in 2017. The new recognition expands the number of individuals who are recognized by the Board of Education annually, allowing more attention to be shown to the inspiring good works of district employees.
